Use triggers as well as a calendar

A scheduled quarterly review catches gradual drift, but material events need faster action. Define triggers such as changed product scope, broken source, disputed profile or category split. Assign the owner and expected response for each. The cadence should reflect how quickly the evidence can change and how much a stale claim could mislead a buyer.

  1. Group fields by volatility and buyer impact.
  2. Set a review owner and interval for each group.
  3. Use correction requests or observed changes to trigger earlier review.

Avoid a false currentness signal

A page updated only to change its date is not substantively fresher. Review the fields that support its main claim and record which were confirmed, changed or left uncertain. Search1001's dated observations illustrate why freshness belongs to the evidence, not just a site-wide timestamp. The Market should show the state of its records as it operates.

Match review frequency to claim volatility

Identity may be stable while pricing, integration and availability change quickly. Set review triggers per field and a scheduled backstop for records with no events. A broken official source can trigger immediate review; a category rule may need a slower editorial cycle. Log the action and result, including “no material change.” This is stronger than updating every page timestamp on a fixed date because it shows which evidence was actually checked and why the visible conclusion remains current.

A correction trigger should name the affected claim and the expected action. For example, a retired integration calls for a relationship review and a buyer-facing note on pages that used it. An unanswered support email is not itself evidence that the feature disappeared. This distinction keeps the cadence evidence-led rather than reactive to every weak signal.

A changed date is not fresh evidence

A fixed schedule does not guarantee freshness. If a material source changes between cycles, the event trigger should bring it forward.
